Welcome. I write short stories. And some medium and long ones too.
Daniel started writing seriously in 2017 after a relocation from Bristol to the Midlands. He’d always read voraciously from a young age, and thought he’d give writing a go.
The first ever short story he submitted came second, and highly commended from over 1000 entries, in the 2018 Writers and Artists Short Story competition (Bloomsbury, UK).
Since then he’s been writing steadily, and sending stories out into the big wide world of online and print literary journals. ‘Office Revenge’ was published in Spadina Literary Review, Canada. ‘Prohibited Item in Bagging Area’ will be published in issue 2 of Reality Break magazine, USA. ‘Ritual’ was published by TheFictionPool.com in January 2020. ‘The Ways I’ve embarrassed myself’ was published in March, 2020 by Emerge Literary Journal. ‘Tangerine’ was published by Lunate on March 2nd, 2020. ‘Duncan Chisel’ has been accepted by Idle Ink magazine.
In March 2020 Daniel was invited to join the latest cohort of fifteen Room 204 writers, a development programme run by the Writing West Midlands agency. Funded by the Arts Council, Writing West Midlands is a National Portfolio Organisation, and run the Birmingham Literature Festival as a key part of developing literature across the region. The Room 204 programme has been running for over 8 years and has helped nurture over 140 writers with help, advice, training, mentoring, and networking. I am extremely lucky and humbled to have been accepted, and keen to learn and develop.
